  1. Who is Vectren Source?
    Vectren Source is an established natural gas provider with a proven track record of helping customers manage their natural gas costs. Vectren Source already supplies natural gas to hundreds of thousands of customers in Ohio, Indiana and New York.
  2. What other programs do you offer?
    In addition to the lower prices we’ve been talking about, Vectren Source also has a special program for our customers called FRIENDS Plus. There is information on this program contained in the Welcome Kit you'll receive after you enroll. You can also click here to get more information on this website. FRIENDS Plus rewards you for recommending Vectren Source to your neighbors, your friends and family members. For every person who becomes an active Vectren Source customer and tells us you referred them to us, we’ll give you a $25 reward check. And there is no limit to the number of referrals you can receive.

  4. What are your customer service center hours?
    Our customer service representatives are available during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday thru Friday at 1-866-306-8136. Our interactive website is available 24 hours a day.
  5. If I have a fixed rate, what happens after the first year?
    Vectren Source will notify you of your options prior to the end of your term. Our goal is to provide you with security and superior service and keep you as a loyal customer for many, many years to come.
  6. What should I do if I am moving?
    If you are a current customer, you will want to call Vectren Source to transfer or terminate service before you move to another address. Please call 1-866-306-8136 (toll-free) when you know your moving date—preferably 1–2 weeks in advance. Please be sure to provide your new mailing address. After transfer or termination, you will receive a bill for consumption up to the transfer or termination date.

    It is important to note that you must contact your local utility to actually discontinue your natural gas service at your old residence.
  7. Will my service be as reliable?
    Yes. You will still receive the same reliable service to which you have become accustomed. The natural gas lines and meters will continue to be maintained by your local distribution utility.
  8. Who will provide emergency services for natural gas service?
    Your local distribution utility will continue to respond to all emergencies, including gas leaks. Though you buy your gas from Vectren Source, the local utility still maintains the gas lines and meters that deliver gas to your home or place of business.
  9. What should I do if I smell gas?
    As a safety precaution, an odorant is added to natural gas to give it a distinctive smell. If you detect a pungent odor that might be gas, leave the building at once and place a call to your local distribution utility. The local utility handles these responsibilities.
  10. How will I be billed?
    You will continue to receive a bill from your local gas utility. They will continue charging for delivery services. Vectren Source only charges for the amount of gas you use. Our charges will appear as a line item in the "Gas Supplier Detail" section on the utility's bill. You will continue to have all the billing options in place prior to selecting Vectren Source as your provider.
  11. If Vectren Source is my supplier, will I still do business with the local utility?
    Yes; your local distribution utility will still deliver the natural gas to your residence, respond to any delivery service issues or emergencies, and send and process your bills.
  12. How do I enroll with Vectren Source?
    Click on the link "My Energy Cafe" in the menu above.

    Select your utility from the drop down menu or by entering your zip code. Choose the rate you wish to enroll on, and click the "Enroll now" button.

    If you have any difficulty with the online system, please don't hesitate to call our customer care representatives at 1-866-306-8136, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday thru Friday. They will be happy to assist you.
  13. How do I change my rate?
    Enter your log in information in the My Account login section below. Choose the rate you wish to change to, and click "Enroll Now." Complete the information that is requested on the following page, then click on "Change My Rate."
  14. What if I forget my log-in information?
    Click on the Current Customers Login Here at the bottom of your screen. From there you can click on Forgot your Password? or Retrieve your Login ID.
